Why Must Be Only One?

They said, "Exalted are You; we have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Indeed, it is You who is the Knowing, the Wise."
[AL-BAQARAH Ch.2:V.32]

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. It is good to start all your works with this verse. Not forget to praise Him, as we still have the chances to live, to have good health, and the most important things are Faith and Islam. I started this entry with the verse above, to remind me that all these knowledge are not originated from me but it comes from Allah. Only He knows everything, what we reveal and what we conceal.

Maybe we do not realize that we are under attack from many different angles. For Muslims, I think that I have so many obstacles and challenges in front of us. The other religion also is trying to convert us, in the name that to save us from hell fire. From the other angle, we are under attack from those that claiming they are also Islam like us, but actually they are false. Not forgetting the people that thinking critical, maybe too critical and rejecting the religion.

The key to all these problems is knowledge. Without knowledge we are easily influence by them. The knowledge is there with us, it is the Quran that differentiate the truth and the false. The problem now is we Muslims, lazy to read, to understand and to learn. We just like spoon feeding and that is the reason we are easily influence by the free thinker and also the ideology from other religion. We already have the Quran and Hadith, now it is our job to prove to the other, show them the evidence that we have.

Arise and deliver thy warning!
[AL-MUDDATHSIR Ch.74:V.2]

Insha’Allah, with the God wills, I am going to answer the question in the title. I am not the best to answer this, but I will do my best to answer it.

Allah has not taken any son, nor has there ever been with Him any deity. [If there had been], then each deity would have taken what it created, and some of them would have sought to overcome others. Exalted is Allah above what they describe [concerning Him].
[AL-MUKMINUN Ch.23:V.91]

Firstly, Allah says that He never has son. He does not need someone or something to be His son. People say that God came down to the earth as a man because He wanted to feel the human’s pain. Most people say that God can do anything and everything that is the reason they claim God can be a human and can has a son. As a Muslim, we need to learn nature of God or nature of Allah (sifat-sifat Allah). There are three categories, the compulsory, the impossible and should have. Therefore, for Allah to have son and to be a man, it is His impossible nature, never going to happen. There many more, but I just touch on the related things only.

Why Allah did not have to become a man to understand the people? I will give a short answer to this. This is because He is the Almighty, He knows everything. He did not have to become a man to understand human. He is the creator. Like an engineer creating a machine, did he need to become the machine to understand it? Look for your own answer.

Allah also says that there is no other God with Him. He already stated clearly the reasons in the verse. If there are many Gods, they will fight with each other to create their best creature, their best universe and so on. If there are many Gods, you will find it many other creatures that can be a rivalry to human kind. Look around you, only human that can talk, rules the world, manage the countries, and manage the financial and many other things. Can animal and plant do such things? Again you have to think by yourself.

If there are many Gods, to whom you are going to pray for? When you in a trouble, in the prayer you will wish to have many things. Are you going to pray the same prayer to every God you have? Or in the prayer, are you going to say out you Gods one by one? People will get confused if there are things like this. This is the reason the people with critical thinking leaves their religion as they confused with many Gods. Islam offering the human kind with only one God and nothing is equivalent to Him. Only to Him we worship and pray to, Allah.

Let’s us say we have two Gods. I am sure that there will be among us who are going to make a comparison with these two Gods. When we have two best friends also we make comparison between them. This shows our human nature that is to make comparison. Now, how we are going to know which God is the best? Come let me tell you something. Our brains have limitation. There are many things that our brain cannot give picture or cannot give answer to. For examples, the beauty of the heaven and the virulence in the hell. God will not do something that going to confuse us and something that hard for human to accept.

So Allah alone rules this universe? Yes, only one God that is Allah. How come He can rule this universe by His own? He is the Almighty, why not? Then some people that use their brain will ask why Allah created many angels? My answer for now is it takes many paragraphs to answer this question. If Allah still gives me chance to live, I will write another entry on that only.

Proclaim! (Or read!) In the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created-
[AL-‘ALAQ Ch.96:V.1]

The first ayah in the revelation Allah asks our prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to read. We have to realize the importance of reading. Our civilization depending on the knowledge we have. One of the ways to get knowledge is that by reading. People who are lazy to read will lack of knowledge. The person that lack of knowledge is easy to be fools, to be influenced, to be cheated and so on. It is our fault if we cannot solve problems, not Allah. He already sends His messages to us in the Quran and it is up to us now to read it or not.

And seek help through patience and prayer, and indeed, it is difficult except for the humbly submissive [to Allah].
